About Australia

Did you know that Australia is the world’s sixth largest nation by geographical mass, but ranks 55th in terms of population, with a population of over 25 million people accounting for less than 0.35 percent of the global population? Only in 1901, when six colonies federated to form the Commonwealth of Australia, did modern Australia become what it is today, and millions of people dream to go to Australia, whether for education, work, or just to migrate. Australia is home to some of the world’s most livable cities, as well as some of the world’s most highly regarded institutions, which excel in research and have made a significant impact on the world we live in.

Australian Universities

Some of the world’s most prominent and highly regarded universities are located in Australia. Although there are just 44 universities in Australia, it is safe to assume that practically all of them are in the top 3% in the world in terms of quality, ranking, and criteria. University membership in group alliances may also be used to classify them.

The Eighth Group
The Group of Eight (Go8) is an alliance of eight institutions from Australia’s most research-intensive universities. The Go8, which was founded in 1999, places a premium on influence on the establishment and delivery of long-term sustainable national higher education and research policies, as well as the development of elite international alliances and research partnerships.
